To The Moon

The moon was massive as I stood on the edge of water

The Koi sent lotus flowers my way;

There wasn’t much to do, standing there

Except believe the moon worked miracles today.

I remember floating over the hills-

Yellow sapphire, topaz and gold.

I cried tears of wisdom and pearl,

Whilst clinging on to whatever hope I could hold.

I might have passed a vortex of souls,

While trying to reach the end of time,

All I saw was an infinite loop,

Things of past and present; not mine.

There was a blue moon falling,

Through windstorm and hail-

Only to gravitate back again.

There was a red moon rising-

Through purgatory and fire,

Bathed in marigold rain.

There was a white moon transient-

In all its seven eclipses,

With yellow mountains, green waters,

Sky violet and black.

It was only when I held the lotus did I know -

What it meant to love you to the moon and back.
